Please come and join us, and show your support by walking for the VICTIMS of pit bull and other dangerous dog attacks. Most often when these dogs attack, maul or kill children, adults or family pets, the support seems to be misplaced onto the attacking dog/s to be euthanized, rather than where it should be...on the VICTIM. It is time that the voice of the VICTIMS and their families be heard to promote public awareness and help reduce the number of these attacks.

Please leave your dogs at home while joining us to walk for victims. This is most importantly for the safety of the walkers and for the safety of your dogs.DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED AT THE WALK
Tucson Police Officers WILL BE present at the Walk to ensure safety, and Animal Control will be called to escort any unruly visitors off the property and confiscate any unruly Pit Bulls or Other Dangerous Dogs.
We have rented ramadas in the park and reserve the RIGHT to refuse entrance to unruly visitors and DOGS within our "Exclusive Area."
EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS THE WALK IS ENCOURAGED TO BRING THEIR OWN SIGNS TO WALK WITH. REMEMBER PLEASE, NO SIGNS ABOUT LEGISLATION, LAWS, ORDINANCES, ETC...THIS IS ONLY FOR AND ABOUT THE VICTIMS.

And here's a picture of said Golden Retriever mix:

That dog looks like it has more than a little pit bull in its family tree.
Yes the picture shows a PITBULL MIX.. It is wrong to help spread propaganda about dog breeds that are not the killers and just accept any unfactual reporting that gets on the web. The picture sure does look like a PITBULL MIX. CHANGE the headline please if you want respect for your organization. Just because the pitnutters are successful in hiding the pitbull mixes in the news that are killing doesn't mean you should help them! Change the title to to PITBULL MIX or take it down.
ReplyDeleteHi Jewel Jade and Walk for Victims!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I live too far away to attend this important event. I wish I could show support somehow.
I read that you rented the park for the Walk. If you had to pay for this, I would be happy to make a donation to help cover the cost.
You can email me at piecesofmargo@gmail.com if you are interested, just in case I forget to come back her and check the comments thread.
@ Anon, I don't think The Walk's credibility is at stake due to the Retriever-mix headline. While I completely agree that the dog looks like a pit-mix, if all of the official documents pertinent to this case and the media reports say that the dog is a retriever mix, then it is reasonable to print that.
ReplyDeleteI would put a picture of the dog in the blog post, however. The picture speaks for itself.
